What is a Demising Wall?

Demising Walls are a key component in warehouse separation dividing large spaces into smaller individual multi tenant spaces. Some Demising Walls are required to separate Office Space from Warehouse Space. A typical 1 Hour Demise Wall is created using metal studs running from floor to bottom side of roof joist installed into a slip track system with 1 layer of 5/8 type x drywall on both sides of new wall framing. Some conditions require 2 or 3 hour separation walls depending on the wall assembly type. This would be based on building use, conditions & City Code Requirements.
